Squads give players more possibilities for coordination as well as some protection from griefing. Any players with a Rank of Cpl or higher can create a squad. Squads have their own voice chat. Press
G
to talk. Squad members and Leader have a distinct color for their names on the HUD Only the Squad Leader can invite other players in the squad. The current squad leader's name is in orange at the top of the list. When the Squad Leader leaves the squad or disconnects whoever was connected the longest and in the squad becomes Squad Leader. The Squad Leader can give the squad lead to another squad member by right clicking their name and choosing the relevant option. When squad members are near the squad leader an orange arrow will show up on their compass pointing towards the Squad Leader's current location. The Squad is named by the creator of the squad. A squad can be set to either private or public. Anyone can join public squads with one click, private squads are joined by sending a join request to the squad leader which he can accept or reject. Only the squad leader can change whether the squad is private or public, using the small button at the top of the squad overlay. You can manually mute specific members of the squad by clicking the sound icon next to their name. When a squad reaches 40 members the players requesting an invite get a message that the squad is full and their request is automatically ignored. They can send a message to the squad leader by right clicking the squad name. The squad leader can send valid squad invites even when the squad has 40 members or more. A squad cannot have more than 55 members. Players can join up to 4 squads but only one squad can be active at a time. You make a squad the active squad by pressing the "Make Active Squad" button, the button will be replaced by a large check mark. You will only hear squad voice chat and see squad text chat from the active squad. The squad list window shows all existing squads and whether they're private. A squad is listed under "Local" if a member of that squad is near you, "regional" if a member is in the same region, "global" otherwise. Unlike regiments all squads are automatically disbanded at the start of a new World Conquest or Resistance Phase. == Controls == * Create a squad: Click the button * Join a squad: Right click the name of the squad you want to join. If the squad is private, you must select the option to send a request to join. * Leave a squad: Click the button. * Make a squad the active squad: Select the squad's tab and click the button * Make a squad private/public: Click the button * Show/hide the squad list: Click the button * Show/hide the squad window: Click the "+" or "-" at the top right of the squad window. * Mute a squad member: Click the sound icon next to their name. == Squad Lock == Any member of any squad can "claim" a vehicle using the buttons at the bottom of the vehicle's menu. Once claimed the vehicle's inventory can only be accessed by the members of that squad, and if it is locked every squad member can enter it. Using a wrench on the vehicle only removes the normal lock, not the squad claim. The squad lock is automatically removed after 45 minutes without anyone in the driver seat, you can prevent that by having a squad member toggle it off and on again to reset the timer. == Squad Claims == Squads can claim Light Artillery and Heavy Artillery emplacements (button in the menu) preventing anyone not in the squad from packaging and thus moving the artillery. A squad claimed artillery can still be used by everyone however. Storm Cannons and Intelligence Centers can be claimed by squads with at least 5 players in the region, preventing anyone not in the squad from rotating or firing them. Ammo Rooms can also be claimed by a squad, preventing anyone not in the squad from retrieving anything in the stockpile. == Bunker/Trench Reservation Refresh == Bunkers and trenches built and reserved by a squad member can have their reservation refreshed by any member of the squad in the upgrade menu.
